Beaches Autism Inclusion Week caught my attention because it speaks to something many families already know: “family-friendly” and “autism-friendly” are not always the same thing. For families with autistic children, thoughtful travel planning means looking beyond beautiful resorts and fun amenities. It means asking better questions, considering sensory needs, food needs, downtime, transitions, and support before travel begins.
