Hi, I’m Denise - born and raised in Wausau. I’ve been a travel professional since 2007, and in 2015 I launched Reach for the Magic Destinations. Today I live in Rib Mountain, WI, guiding a team that plans vacations with care and inclusivity. My husband and I raised our kids here, and I’m proud to serve this community.
Based in Wausau, we serve travelers throughout Central Wisconsin—including Weston, Rib Mountain, Kronenwetter, Schofield, Rothschild, and Mosinee—and across the U.S.

1) Are you a travel agency based in Wausau?
​Yes. Reach for the Magic Destinations is locally owned by Denise Lang, who grew up in Wausau and lives in Rib Mountain. Our roots are in Marathon County, and our team helps travelers plan vacations with thoughtful guidance and personal care.

2) Do I need to live in Wausau or Marathon County to work with you?
No. We work with travelers throughout Central Wisconsin, across the state, and around the country. Because of seller of travel requirements, we’re unable to work with residents of California or Hawaii

3) What kinds of vacations do you plan?
Our advisors plan Disney and Universal vacations, ocean and river cruises, all-inclusive getaways, and select trips to Hawaii and Europe. We also take time to understand the people traveling with you, including accessibility, sensory, dietary, and other needs that shape a comfortable trip..

4) Will my travel advisor be located in Wisconsin?
Possibly, but our advisors live in several states. We’ll consider your destination, planning needs, and advisor availability when helping you connect with the right person on our team. Wherever your advisor lives, you’ll work with a real person who takes time to learn what matters to you.

5) Can we meet in person in the Wausau area?
Most of our planning happens by phone, video, and email, which makes it easy to stay connected wherever you live. If meeting locally is important to you, let us know when you reach out, and we’ll tell you what’s possible.

6) How early should we start planning?
For many vacations, starting six to nine months ahead gives you more time to explore your options. Popular holiday and school-break dates, cruises, and trips with specific room or accessibility needs may benefit from an earlier start. It’s still worth reaching out if your dates are closer.

Compare your airport options: Look at CWA (Mosinee), GRB (Green Bay), and ATW (Appleton). MSP (Minneapolis–St. Paul) and MKE (Milwaukee) may offer more flight choices. Consider the full trip, including drive time, parking, and connections.
