Accessible Travel for All

Hi, I’m Katie (she/her)! I’m based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, where you’ll usually find me with my Blue Heeler/Rottweiler mix, Flynn, or dreaming up the next great vacation. I’m a Certified Travel Associate (CTA®) and a Certified Autism Travel Professional (CATP).

My professional background has always centered on helping people access the world around them. I have more than 15 years of experience in Special Education, primarily working within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Autism communities, and I’m fluent in American Sign Language. Today, I work in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) while completing graduate studies toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Accessibility is woven throughout my personal and professional life. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience travel, and I’m passionate about helping people explore the options and support available to them.

Travel has been a lifelong love of mine, too. From my first Walt Disney World vacation at age five to Disney trips, Universal adventures, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and destinations beyond the theme parks, planning vacations has always been my happy place. I enjoy the details—from finding the right resort and transportation to dining, itineraries, and the little touches that turn a vacation into your vacation.

Through my brand, Magical Accessibility, I bring my love of travel together with my background in accessibility and inclusion. I help travelers explore accommodations and plan around mobility needs, sensory considerations, Deaf and Hard of Hearing accessibility, autism-related supports, dietary needs, and other details that can make a trip feel overwhelming.

Accessible travel is one part of what I do. I also plan vacations for families, couples, solo travelers, multigenerational groups, first-time travelers, and seasoned adventurers. Whether you need extensive accessibility planning or simply want guidance with the details, my goal is to meet you where you are and help you feel informed, supported, and excited about your trip.
