A Day at a Disney Deluxe Resort: Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Edition
Waking up in my beautiful room located in Conch Key of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa was quite the way to start the day! Sipping on some nice, hot Joffreys coffee on the balcony overlooking the beautiful sunrise was picture perfect. The grounds of this resort are immaculate, you can look over the Seven Seas Lagoon and see the Contemporary Resort and of course the breath taking Grand Floridian all around you.
Getting ready for the day to Disney’s TV audio in the background in our room which seemed of soft sounds of different Disney tunes while all of the views of the beautiful Mary Poppins inspired details of the room gave me the feeling of being completely immersed in the Disney experience with all of the hints of luxury.
Not being completely sure of what I was wanting for breakfast, I looked at a few choices such a Grand Floridian Café as the Chicken and Mickey Waffles off of the menu seemed eye catching but then decided to go to Gasparilla Island Grill and grabbed some overnight oats which was a delicious and filling way to get the day going. On my very short walk to Gasparilla Island Grill, I enjoyed all of the beautiful flowers of the resort and the pool views.
When you walk the grounds of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, you are sure to see beautiful flowers and wonderful landscape throughout. The pools are always clean and stunning. I really enjoy viewing the architecture of this resort. If you choose to spend a day at the pool, you have a few options for food and drink like Beach Pool Bar and Grill or Courtyard Pool Bar.
As I made my way to the Monorail which is nicely situated near the main lobby of the resort, I had an excellent cast member at the resort come and pick me up on a golf cart style transportation and drive as close as they could to drop off of the Monorail. These are all the little touches that make a huge difference when staying Deluxe! I went through the non existent security line to check bags, this is a huge advantage of staying Deluxe and not having to go through security and the longer lines again once at a park, and hopped aboard the Monorail to Magic Kingdom. I had thought about taking the boat service, which is also available, but I seemed to had just missed the boat and could have waited 15 minutes, but chose Monorail instead. From arriving to the Monorail location to getting off at Magic Kingdom, took about 5 minutes! THIS my friends is such a perk! The ease of transportation to and from this park.. major! Note to add, the monorail service can also take you to Epcot! Transportation to and from Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios will be by bus.
I spent a beautiful afternoon at Magic Kingdom. When leaving, my resort was just another short 5 minute Monorail ride away. When returning, I was hungry just for a quick bite. Gasparilla Island Grill for the win again with an absolutely delicious made fresh Italian Sandwich. Due to this trip being last minute and also during a workshop, I did not make reservations to eat at a few of the other amazing dining options such as Grand Floridian Café, Victoria and Alberts, Narcoossee’s or Citricos. I did, however, squeeze in a delightful lounge experience for appetizers and cocktails a separate evening at the Enchanted Rose.
After a long day, I went back to my room and put on some lounge wear and then walked to the boat dock to enjoy an absolutely breathtaking view of Magic Kingdoms Happily Ever After firework display. While walking there, I saw people out on the lawn watching a Movie Under the Stars! This was a game changer! Experiencing this show without crowds was perfection. At the boat dock they were playing the audio through the speaker system and it was just gorgeous. After the fireworks, I made my way back to my room and enjoyed the Electrical Pageant Parade from my balcony and then cozied up into the bed for a great nights sleep to get ready for another very exciting day!
When staying at this specific Deluxe resort, nothing is short of amazing. From dining, the grounds, the pools, gift shops, the ease of transportation, the luxurious rooms, view of night time shows and more, you will certainly have a magical visit at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa!
