A Thoughtful Beginning for Our Next Travel Advisor Cohort
When I think about what makes Reach for the Magic Destinations special, I think about people: the travelers who trust us with their time together and the advisors who care for them.
Our advisor community didn't appear overnight. Over the years, we've welcomed people thoughtfully, helped them get started, and built a team that shares knowledge and shows up for one another. When we recognized our advisors earlier this year, some of the most meaningful stories were about teammates checking in, answering questions, sharing helpful information, and cheering each other on. That's the kind of community I'm proud to be part of.
Now we're preparing to welcome our next group of prospective advisors. As I've listened, learned, and led this agency, I've gotten clearer about how to help someone begin with both confidence and a realistic understanding of the work. So I'm refining our Academy into a small cohort experience: people learning and practicing together, with room for questions, feedback, and connection.
A business of your own, with people beside you
If you've wondered whether you could become a travel advisor, I want you to know there's room for more than one kind of person here. Maybe you're the friend who notices what would make a trip easier for everyone. Maybe you love researching possibilities, bringing people together, or helping someone feel seen and understood. Those strengths matter.
There is also more to this work than loving travel. Advisors listen carefully, learn constantly, manage details, advocate for clients, and follow through when plans change. As an independent contractor, you build your own client relationships and take responsibility for growing your business. The agency provides education, tools, guidance, standards, and a community you can turn to along the way.
I believe support and ownership belong together. Independent doesn't have to mean isolated.
What the Academy is for
Our next Academy cohort begins October 12th. It's a place for prospective advisors to learn the foundations, practice before serving clients, get feedback, and discover what building a travel business with Reach for the Magic Destinations could look like. We'll also have a chance to get to know each other and consider whether continuing together as agency and advisor is a mutual fit.
This is a more intentional format for beginning together. The care we take in welcoming people, and the community they would join, are already part of who we are.
If you're curious, you don't need to arrive with a perfectly polished business plan or a single travel specialty mapped out. Bring your questions, your willingness to learn, your care for people, and an honest sense of the effort you're ready to put in. We can explore the rest together.
Applications for the October 12 cohort close October 1.
