My Stay at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside Resort

This past trip I got the opportunity to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans - Riverside. This was the first time I stayed at this property and I was BLOWN AWAY. When I was younger, my family split stays between Disney’s Port Orleans - French Quarter and Disney’s Coronado Springs, but I never had the opportunity to stay at Riverside!

With that being said, this may be one of my favorite moderate resorts on property, if not my favorite. The river, the quiet atmosphere, the wooded feel, everything about it just made me feel like I was in a secluded resort somewhere in the middle of the woods, not at Disney World. There were horse drawn carriages, hidden gems in every courtyard, such an amazing experience.
I stayed in a Wood’s Room in Oak Manor and it was an extremely close walk to the main building (dining hall, store, busses and check in) and the Oak Manor bus stop! The room was all Princess and the Frog themed and it was adorable!

When I first arrived, I dropped my bags off at the luggage services (did you know that your resort will hold your bags for you on check in or check out day so you can go explore? Super cool perk of staying on property). After I dropped my bags, I took the boat from my resort over to Disney Springs, which I also have never done before.
This boat ride also stopped at Disney’s Port Orleans- French Quarter and passed Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, Saratoga Springs Tree House Villas and Disney's Old Key West resorts! The boat ride was quiet and honestly had some of the best views. I have never seen Disney Springs from the water side before, so that was something pretty cool! The boat drops you off and picks you up right near the Christmas Shop and Rainforest Cafe, a perfect spot to get started on some shopping!

After browsing around Disney Springs, I went back over to the Resort, stopping at French Quarter to look around then making the walk back to my resort, which was only about 10 minutes! I got into my room and got ready for dinner.
I experienced dinner at Boatwrights, Riverside’s table service dining, and it was SO GOOD. I had the Disney Dining Plan, which I will discuss later in another post, and was able to get a Hurricane (alcoholic drink), their AMAZING corn bread with honey butter, the seafood boil AND bread pudding, covered under my dining plan. The vibes were immaculate, and the food matched. Definitely would recommend dining here if you stay on property, or even on your next Disney World trip!

If you are looking for a quiet, spread out, relaxing resort to stay at on your next Disney Vacation, I HIGHLY recommend staying at Port Orleans - Riverside, it was one of the best experiences I have had on property and I will definitely be back!
