Throwback to Pride 2025 – Community, Connection, and Celebration

We can’t believe it’s already been three months since Pride Month! Time has flown by, but the joy, connection, and love we experienced at Wausau Pride and the Pride Kickball Tournament are still fresh in our hearts.

Pride isn’t just one month on the calendar - it’s a year-round celebration of love, identity, and community. This past June, Reach for the Magic Destinations had the joy of showing up at two incredible local events that filled our hearts with connection, laughter, and, of course, plenty of pride.

Wausau Pride – Celebrating Family, Flags, and Fun

Early June brought us to Wausau Pride's Family Pride event where Krista and I (Denise) spent the afternoon meeting and celebrating with Pride-goers of all ages.

• We handed out luggage tags featuring 19 different Pride flags, and the excitement from people who found their flag was unforgettable.

• Our Travel Proudly stickers made their debut, and they were snatched up with smiles.

• Part of the RftMD family led a playful game where kids (and quite a few adults!) folded rainbow-colored paper airplanes, launched them for a test flight, and then earned a prize.

But beyond the swag and the fun, the heart of the day was in the hugs, conversations, and affirmations. We were honored to hear people’s stories, say “thank you for being here,” and share in a celebration of belonging. This was our second year as a vendor at Pride, and each year reminds us of the profound power in simply affirming another human being.

Pride Kickball Tournament - “Baggage Not Included” Hits the Field

Later in June, we swapped our booth for the ball field as both a sponsor and a participant in the 3rd Annual Pride Kickball Fundraiser benefiting The Women’s Community.

Our team, playfully named Baggage Not Included with the tagline “Catch flights, not feelings." took the field in matching shirts, armed with laughter, temporary tattoos, and gratitude. Let’s be honest: most of us hadn’t played kickball in decades, and it showed! We went 0-4, but when we scored a single run, we cheered like we’d just won the championship.

Even better than that glorious point? We proudly walked away with the Most Pride Award. Between the sore muscles, the snacks, and the belly laughs, it was a reminder that showing up with heart matters far more than the scoreboard.

Most importantly, this tournament raised critical funds for The Women’s Community, which provides essential services for survivors of violence - including many in the LGBTQ+ community who face unique barriers to safety and support.

Why We Show Up

At Reach for the Magic Destinations, Pride is more than a moment. It’s a reflection of our values-connection, inclusivity, and the magic of togetherness. Whether we’re cheering on a teammate, celebrating a person who finds a flag that represents them, or affirming a neighbor with a simple hug, we believe these moments matter.

Three months later, we’re still carrying the spirit of Pride forward into everything we do. We’re grateful to have been part of both Wausau Pride and the Pride Kickball Tournament this year, and we’re already looking forward to next year...with more glitter, hopefully better footwork, and always hearts full of pride.
